# Sell merchandise with a store

Use **Store** to sell merchandise to your supporters. You add items to one inventory, put them in a store, set how they ship, and track orders.

SmartChange does not produce merchandise, hold stock, or ship items for you. It gives you an easy online store for all of your swag sales.

Store has four tabs: **Stores**, **Inventory**, **Orders**, and **Shipping profiles**.

### Set up shipping first

Every item belongs to a shipping profile. A profile is a set of postage rules.

1. Click **Store** in the left menu, then the **Shipping profiles** tab.
2. Click **New profile** and set the postage rules.

### Add items to your inventory

You add each item once. Stock is shared across all your stores, so nothing oversells.

1. Go to **Store → Inventory**.
2. Click **New item** and fill in the details.
3. Assign it to a shipping profile. Every item needs one.

Use the **In stock**, **Low stock**, **Out of stock**, and **All** filters to see what needs restocking.

### Create a store

A store is a shopfront. It picks which inventory items it puts out.

1. Go to **Store → Stores**.
2. Click **New store** and fill in the details.

Use the **Live**, **Archived**, and **All** filters to find a store.

### Track and export orders

Orders arrive with the items, the address, and a packing slip to print.

1. Go to **Store → Orders**.
2. Use **Unfulfilled**, **Shipped**, **Delivered**, or **All** to see orders by status.
3. Click **Export orders** to download the list, for example to hand to whoever packs and posts them.

For store sales over a period, use the **Store orders** report under **Reporting**.
