Create an Account

Getting started on SmartChange is fast. Before you begin, have your EIN/Tax ID, legal business name, and banking information handy — these will need to match your organizational and banking paperwork exactly.


  1. Go to smartchange.app and click Create an Account in the top right corner.
  2. Enter your name and email address.
  3. Check your email for a verification code and enter it to confirm your account.


That's it — you're in! Your next step is to create a campaign.


A campaign on SmartChange is your entire fundraising operation — it's the home for all your fundraisers, events, donor data, and settings. Anyone can create one: candidates, campaign staff, advocacy organizations, consultants, and agencies managing multiple clients.


  1. Log in at smartchange.app.
  2. Click Add Campaign.
  3. Enter your campaign name, primary email, phone number, campaign type, and location.
  4. Click Continue.


Your campaign is created! The next step is to link your bank account so you can start collecting donations. See Link Your Bank + Verify Your Account for step-by-step instructions.
